Photo de-duplication
Also called: photo dedup, duplicate detection
Photo de-duplication detects when the same image has been uploaded more than once and keeps only one copy in the gallery.
Duplicates creep in from many directions: a photographer re-uploading a folder, a camera FTP retry, two guests sharing the same forwarded photo.
De-duplication compares incoming files against what is already in the gallery — by content, not just filename — and skips exact and near-exact repeats.
This keeps photo counts honest against a plan limit and stops guests seeing the same shot three times in their results.
