Import a Dropbox Folder into Event Galleries
Share a Dropbox folder, paste the link into your event, and Pixeva brings the photos in, face-indexes them, and makes them searchable by selfie. No Dropbox login or app connection needed.
From Dropbox folder to searchable gallery
Four steps, no account connection.
Step 1
Share the folder
In Dropbox, create a shared link for the folder that holds your event photos. Anyone with the link must be able to view it.
Step 2
Paste the link
Add the link to your event in Pixeva. Pixeva checks that the link works and shows how many files it found before importing anything.
Step 3
Pixeva imports the files
The folder is downloaded and unpacked. Duplicates are skipped by file content, and HEIC and HEIF photos are converted to JPEG automatically.
Step 4
Guests find their photos
Imported photos go through the same face indexing as any upload, so guests can find themselves with one selfie.
Dropbox import FAQ
- Do I need to connect my Dropbox account to Pixeva?
- No. Pixeva imports from a shared-folder link, so there is no Dropbox login, no OAuth connection and no API key. You only share the folder you want to import.
- Which file types does the Dropbox import support?
- Photos in JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC and HEIF, and videos in MP4, MOV and WebM. Photos can be up to 50 MB each and videos up to 500 MB each. HEIC and HEIF photos are converted to JPEG.
- What happens if the same photo is in the folder twice?
- Pixeva compares files by content, not filename, so a photo that is already in the event is skipped instead of being added twice.
- Can I cancel an import that is running?
- Yes. You can cancel a running import from the event. Photos that were already imported stay in the gallery.
- Does the import count toward my photo limit?
- Yes. Imported photos count toward the same per-event limit as any other upload, and files beyond the limit are skipped.
