Selfie photo search lets someone find every photo of themselves in a large gallery by submitting a single selfie, which is matched against the faces in every image.
At an event with thousands of photos, no guest is going to scroll the whole gallery. Selfie photo search flips the model: instead of browsing, a guest takes one selfie and the system returns only the photos they appear in.
It works because every uploaded photo is scanned for faces and each face is stored as a numeric fingerprint. The selfie is converted to the same kind of fingerprint and compared against all of them, so a match can be found in seconds.
