How It Works at Graduations
Three simple steps. That's it.
Photographers capture the ceremony
Upload graduation photos to Pixeva. Our AI detects and indexes every face automatically: even in crowded auditoriums and group shots.
Share the code with graduates
Display on programs, screens, or email. Guests visit pixeva.co/join: no app needed. Works on any device.
Graduates & families find photos
One selfie finds every ceremony and celebration photo. Download, share with family, and relive the moment.
The graduation photo problem
A graduation ceremony has hundreds of graduates crossing a stage in a few seconds each. The photographer catches most of them, but the gallery comes back as thousands of near-identical frames in alphabetical order. Parents scroll for twenty minutes to find the one where their child is shaking hands, and many give up.
The photos that matter most are also the ones people cannot find: the walk across the stage, the diploma handoff, the cap toss on the lawn afterwards, and the group shots with friends and family.
How it works for a ceremony
- Create the event for the ceremony and put the QR code on the programme, on a sign at the venue entrance, and on the school's graduation web page.
- The photographer uploads during and after the ceremony. Photos are matched to faces automatically as they arrive.
- Graduates and families scan the code. They take a selfie and see every photo the graduate appears in, with no app to install and no account to create.
- They download what they want. Families can save individual photos or the whole set of their matches in full resolution, as long as downloads are turned on for the event.
Make it work for the whole family
- One code for everyone. The same QR code serves graduates, parents, grandparents and friends, so you do not have to manage a list of who gets access.
- Let guests add their own photos. When collaborative uploads are on, relatives can add the phone photos they took from the stands to the same gallery, and those become searchable too.
- Put the code on the programme. People look at the programme during the ceremony, so it is the most reliable place for the QR code.
- Plan for the afterwards. Cap tosses and lawn photos happen when everyone is moving. A second photographer or a short window for guest uploads fills the gaps.
For schools and universities
- Branding. Add the school logo so shared photos carry its name.
- Privacy. The organiser controls who can open the gallery and whether downloads are enabled; see how Pixeva protects event photos. If minors are involved, agree the consent approach with the school before the day.
- Several ceremonies. If you run morning and afternoon sessions, separate folders keep each cohort's photos together.
What to expect
Selfie search is quick and makes finding a graduate far easier than scrolling, but it will not match every frame. A graduate turned away from the camera or wearing a mortarboard that covers their face may not appear in their results; they can still browse the full gallery.
Common questions
Do we need to download an app?
No. Everything runs in a phone browser: details.
Can we download the photos?
Yes, when the organiser has enabled downloads; see can guests download their photos.
Can the school get the photos too?
Yes. The organiser owns the gallery and can share it, download everything and manage who has access.
Is it free?
There is a free tier for small events and one-time passes for bigger ceremonies; see is Pixeva free to use.
