How does face recognition photo search work?

When photos are uploaded, Pixeva detects every face and converts each one into a numeric fingerprint called an embedding. When a guest submits a selfie, it is turned into the same kind of fingerprint and compared against every face in the event.

Photos whose faces are close enough to the selfie are returned as matches, ranked by confidence. The comparison runs in seconds even for galleries with thousands of photos.
